The Walnut Valley Unified School District is proud to offer a unique and innovative K-8 dual language immersion program in Mandarin.  In dual language immersion classrooms, students receive instruction in English and Mandarin. 

Beginning in Kindergarten, the goal is to develop academic proficiency in both languages.  Heritage Mandarin students and English speakers are placed in the same classroom to promote oral and written fluency in two languages.  In addition, all students are expected to meet and to exceed grade level standards.  The integration of a 21st century curriculum and the latest instructional technology will be at the forefront of this program.  


The Walnut Valley Unified School District is located in the East San Gabriel Valley.  The K-5 Mandarin Dual Language Immersion program is housed at Walnut Elementary, located next to the district office.
